Legacy DF Bridge Set Up in Dallas

Post by Sportmotogear »

I recently purchased a Legacy off of eBay that is in need of a good set up. Does anyone know of a good guitar tech in Dallas that could get this thing in specs?

Not Texas Guitar Workshop. I took a fairly new Legacy with maple fretboard in there with a concern about what looked like a hairline crack in the finish on the side of the neck. The owner told me that the neck and fretboard are one piece and that was a sign of a serious split from a fall. The guitar did fall from a stand but nothing serious. I sent pictures to and spoke to someone at G&L who said it does have a separate fretboard and that the hairline crack isn't a problem. The owner of TGW is one of those guys who knows it all and drops names of well know people like crazy.

I do like the guys at The Guitar Shop on Beltline Rd in Richardson. Easy going, does good work and on more than one occasion has made quick adjustments on my guitars on the spot without any charge. Also very honest. They also repair amps.

I do my own setups and would be glad to assist you if you're near McKinney.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in Grapevine so not too close but willing to make a trek for assistance.

What I would do is print out the factory setup instructions found in the Gallery and take them to the luthier and tell him to follow these steps exactly. Then any minor adjustments would be simple from this baseline.

Most guys have no clue how to set them to factory specs.

Thank you Bill for the pointer to the instructions. I'll start there and see what happens.
