Re: Reverse head stock Comanche pics
Was this just cosmetic, did you want/need a new neck and decide to go with a rev, or did one happen to be available?
I agree no decal is the way to go if a new neck is from a different model.
Although it does look OK, I liked the way it looked originally. I much prefer plain white over a pearl guard. The headstock is different at least. To each his own if it makes you happy.

Looks good FF! I believe that is quartersawn but I am no expert. This is the replacement for the bird's eye that warped on you? The quartersawn will certainly be more stable.
Good job!

Salmon , I have a post in the knowledge base on adding relief (photos included) , my birdseye neck twisted bad ,I bought/bid on this before I new I could get a Factory replacement , I didn't want to let it get away since I liked the headstock decal with no Model name as it would be hard to find a Comanche neck .... I do have a quartersawn neck coming from G&L with conventional head stock , I will probably put this neck in the "Market Place" once the new one comes in ..... it sure looks wierd when I'm playing , not used to the head stock with tuning keys on the wrong side ..lol

FF, it sure looks nice and yes, that looks like a quartersawn neck. It is unusual to find an American neck for sale.-- Darwin.

Darwin thats why I didn't want to let it go on ebay , the no headstock model decal was just icing on the cake ..... this neck came "loaded" with locking tuners and everything !! ..... 4 frets from four strings have the slightest divot but the truss rod adjust nice and smooth and my Tech could fix the frets easy , but it still play's nice as is with no buzz , I'll wait till the new neck comes in before having them leveled .... I was devasted when the neck twisted but it ended up being no big deal , it was nothing that money couldn't fix
