I bought a Cantrell Superhawk off the web a few months ago and the jack is already failing (intermittent connection). I've got no reply from G&L about whether this is covered under warranty.
Anyone know where I can purchase a new jack?

Re: Cantrell Superhawk Jack
They can be had in most electronic supply stores. Chicago should have a bunch of them. I recently purchased 3 of them to make sure I had a good one. They are switchcraft and the jack can be a problem but it can also be the metric plug you are plugging in. I tore one of the jacks apart and can see why they fail. I use an ohmmeter and test them with the cord I use before installing one. If you have a true 1/4 plug they will probably work fine. They are finicky with the metric plugs which is about all you will find nowdays. If you have a dealer who will do it on warranty that is great. I did it myself to make sure that it would work with my wireless plug. They are less $2 each where I buy them. Today $2 of gas will not get you far.-- Darwin

Are you sure? We're talking about the enclosed metal jack that looks like a metal cylinder about 2 inches long. It's not one of those standard jacks you buy at Radio Shack.darwinohm wrote:They can be had in most electronic supply stores. Chicago should have a bunch of them. I checked with G&L and you should be hearing from Chris Robosan soon (I gave him your email address).8len8 wrote:I bought a Cantrell Superhawk off the web a few months ago and the jack is already failing (intermittent connection). Anyone know where I can purchase a new jack?
Hope this helps.HI Craig,
Please send me his contact info & I’ll get ahold of him if he wants to send it in for warranty evaluation.
If he wants to just purchase one he can do so from the webstore http://g-l-online-store.myshopify.com/c ... utput-jack
Thanks,

Thanks for the help. I assume if G&L didn't get my question that there's still something going on where gmail emails are getting blocked...

Hey 8len8, I remember that you bought the NAMM Superhawk, and you didn't like the wide neck on it initially... it's been quite a while since then, so how has it been with your Superhawk lately? Are you liking it better now?

Yes, it appears that your gmail is not getting through to them. I just heard from Chris and the last email he got from your gmail email account was on 7/15 2013.8len8 wrote:Thanks for the help. Hopefully he can connect with you soon.

Re: Cantrell Superhawk Jack
I got the jack, but now I'm having trouble getting the original one out. It doesn't have a nut on it, but it does have a piece of string coming from the mounting hole and tied near the end of the jack where the wire solder to it.
Anyone know how these jacks are mounted to the guitar body? Press fit, or maybe they are screwed into the wood?
