sc-2 trem bar??
I have an sc-2 and the trem bar when inserted leems to be way to close to the strings and pretty much in the way of playing when trying to use it at the same time....Is there any different replacements for this? its solid but its almost as if the end that goes into the trem isnt long enough to raise it up high enough so then the bar itself is too long and is uncomfortable....any ideas?? i though about trying to bend the bar angle but it pretty tough...

Is the nylon bushing still behind the set screw? It should tighten at a height that's reasonable ( doesn't have to bejageya wrote:I have an sc-2 and the trem bar when inserted leems to be way to close to the strings and pretty much in the way of playing when trying to use it at the same time....Is there any different replacements for this? its solid but its almost as if the end that goes into the trem isnt long enough to raise it up high enough so then the bar itself is too long and is uncomfortable....any ideas?? i though about trying to bend the bar angle but it pretty tough...
sitting at the bottom ) . It should be snug so the bar still rotates, with enough friction so it doesn't go willy nilly.
A couple have bent those bars , to fit personal pref's ...they don't bend easy ( a good thing most the time) .
Playing with the set screw assembly is usually the trick to getting those bars to a happy working situation.

...a couple other thoughts, forgive me if it seems elementary:
Is the bridge plate parallel with the body ( not angled forward ) ? That's would be one other reason the bar would be sitting low. This can happen if you put on heavier strings and don't rebalance the tension with the tremelo claw screws.

Re: sc-2 trem bar??
thanx,,,, yes the bridge is level.. and set screw is working fine with the bushing in place....I understand about the pulling the bar up more to be higher and then tighten the set screw....I guess i will need the bar bent at the 90 degree turn more upward to the bar is angling up maybe like 5-10 degrees or so....Has anyone done this??
