Third set of photos from the Factory for 2014 ...

Post by Craig »

Time again to get those G&L "drool towels" out.

Here's the third set of photos for 2014, which were posted on G&L's Facebook page:
Here's an ASAT Classic S Alnico Launch Edition. Autumnburst over Western Sugar Pine body, 3-ply black guard, rosewood board, Light Tint Gloss neck finish.
This guitar has so much harmonic complexity it's ridiculous.
Image
In the Paint Shop: these bass bodies both have wood binding on alder. On top is a black SB-2 and on the bottom is a Tobacco Sunburst M-2500.
Image
Here's an ASAT Special Semi-Hollow in Clear Orange over swamp ash, double bound body, white 3-ply guard and covers,
quartersawn maple neck with Light Tint Gloss finish. We love it.
Image
Here's a Legacy Deluxe in Cherryburst. We didn't want to let go, but the UPS man was waiting.
Image
Lefty L-2500 in Tobacco Sunburst over alder, maple neck with clear satin finish. In the lefthand pocket.
Image
Here's a Comanche in Clear Orange over swamp ash, white guard, rosewood and Vintage Gloss neck finish.

Here's an ASAT Classic S Alnico in Tobacco Sunburst over alder, 3-ply white guard, maple neck with Light Tint Gloss finish.
Normally we'd put a white cover on the middle pickup to go with a white guard, but this customer wanted a black one. We're cool with that.
How about you? [EDIT: yes, it's got an arm contour too]
Image
L-2500 Blueburst over swamp ash, matching headstock, rosewood board. A Fender Avenue favorite.
Image
Here's a Comanche in Butterscotch Blonde over swamp ash with wood binding, matching headstock, GraphTech nut, locking tuners, tortoise guard,
white covers, chrome knurled knobs and more. We love to see customers be bold.
Image
Sprayed this Legacy Deluxe body this morning. The Clear Blue is pretty cool on a flame top, don't you think?
Image
Here's a Bluesboy 90 Semi-Hollow in Honeyburst over a flame top on swamp ash, tortoise guard, maple neck with Light Tint Gloss finish. We love it.
Image
Here's a Legacy in Shoreline Gold with a 3-ply creme guard, creme covers and knobs. We're actually a bit surprised this guitar pulls it off.
The creativity of you G&L owners continues to amaze us.
Image
Here's an ASAT Special in Belair Green with a bound body and fingerboard. So clean.
Image
Dig this MJ-4 fretless with inlayed ghostlines, bound neck, Gloss White body and matching headstock.
Image
Simple, elegant yet seriously cool: this ASAT Special Semi-Hollow in Midnight Blue Metallic is right up Leo's alley.
Image
Here's an L-1500 in Cherryburst over alder, maple neck with Light Tint Gloss finish. It's thumping the place right now.
Image
Starting the week right with this Legacy with flame top in Tobacco Sunburst with creme guard, covers and knobs,
rosewood board and Vintage Tint Gloss neck finish.
Image
Here's a Legacy in Belair Green, 3-ply white guard, rosewood board and Vintage Tint Gloss neck finish. Surf's up!

Image
Here's a Savannah Collection ASAT Bass.
Image
Here's a Bluesboy Semi-Hollow in Cherryburst over swamp ash with wood binding, tortoise guard, rosewood and clear satin neck finish.

Here's a Bluesboy Semi-Hollow in 3-Tone Sunburst over swamp ash with wood binding, tortoise guard, rosewood and clear satin neck finish.

Jamie (blagfromouterspace) described Shoreline as "pewter" seeing it in person. That shoreline definitely looks like pewter in this photo.

The last bass is my favorite of this batch.

Regarding the question about having a black pickup cover with an Alnico chrome over white pickguard, I am used to the mixed combinations on ASAT's unlike S-style guitars where the pickup cover is often deliberately planned in the design. I recall the 30th Anniversary ASAT using a black when it was white on all of the other models. BTW, I think G&L should have been making a cream Z-coil cover and not only white or black. With this particular guitar black looks fine and I don't think white would help or hurt.
