Hey all,
I'm looking at a '97 Legacy that is said to have Fralin pickups with chrome covers that are stock.
Did any c. '97 Legacys have Fralins as stock pickups?
I don't see any listed in the pickup knowledgebase....
I kinda miss my '93 Legacy that had Duncans, and which I never should have let go 10 or so yrs. ago, so am a bit interested in this but am trying to figure out (a) which Fralins it has and (b) if they are stock. Current owner believes they were stock/OEM pickups.'
Given that Lindy Fralin rewound 2 pickups in a '62 Strat I know well, and nailed the sound of the originals, whether these are original to this Legacy are a bit secondary but I am curious about what flavor of Fralins they are and whether they came from the factory that way.
Thanks for any insight.
Cheers,
Jon

No, unless it is an employee guitar (because in that case about everything is a crapshoot ). These are more likely replacement pups which may have been swapped out by the shop the guitar was bought at.fendertweed wrote: Did any c. '97 Legacys have Fralins as stock pickups?

I think the current owner is mistaken, they are not stock pickups used by G&L.fendertweed wrote:Hey all,

Thanks, that was my belief.
I asked the seller to check the pickups & let me know which Fralins they are if he can, I have no problem with Fralins (Lindy expertly rewound a couple of '62 Strat pickups for me and nailed the original tone) but it would be nice to know what they are.
