Asat maple fingerboard?

Post by Fender Splendor »

Greetings! I am a new G&L owner I have a ASAT tribute classic and I just love it. :happy0007: I do have one question, the answer to which has eluded my research attempts. My guitar has a separate maple fingerboard. (A very attractive one I might add.) Every other maple neck-fingerboard guitar I've owned has a solid maple neck which is also the fingerboard. Why? Besides the aesthetic reason, is there another tonal advantage or disadvantage?

Hopefully, this will explain why: About the truss rod.
