The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.
I got this USA legacy recently. Guy said it was all original. Well I took the back plate off and see extra drill holes and the bridge looks a little different then others I have seen. I took the neck off and the dates are from 1996. Check out the pics. Just want to know if this is a USA bridge and not a tribute.
or it's a new USA DF based on how clean it is while the screws look rough , my Cavalier is like that , you have to re-use the screws because they are american thread where the replacements are metric like the new guitars .... the back cover must not be original since the screw holes have been re-located
Great, the guy said it was all original. I am going to take the pic guard off this weekend and take some pics to see if you guys notice any changes. The pics make the saddle screws look old but they are shinny. Is the string tree right in the pic or is it cracked? Saddles being changed makes sense since I can't find any pics of G & L legacy saddle string holes that are that narrow. I wonder if they are cheaper saddles than the original.
Oh, also the new back plate holes are wider than the original so I was wondering if the back was routed out where the vibrato block is. It is wider there. Is that right? thanks

Nope, that's the way the routing is done at the factory.
the string tree is cracked
I think those saddles are 90's fender saddles (or at least look like it, they should work fine).
I'm using the same saddles on a G&L bridge on one of my projects.
Could be the photo but two of the springs look newer than that third one. The pups on my 95 don't have the G&L on the covers. Not sure what year they switched those, maybe one of the experts could verify the year they switched over.
