Man, What a tease!

Post by RampageFan »

Well, I've been waiting patiently on a new Belair Green Fallout to arrive, and after being held up a day during delivery due to the snowstorms on the east coast, it finally arrived this morning. And what is the first thing I see? A big yellow sticker on the box that says "Caution, do not open for 24 hours, damage to finish may occur if not properly acclimated to indoor temperatures."

Man, talk about a tease!

At least it's time for me to go to bed now. That will knock off about 7 hours...

hehe....I could imagine you unpacking it in your sleep and waking to a floor covered in packing peanuts (blame it on the Ambien).

Well I made it through the long wait. First impressions are just wow! I like everything about it. All of my G&l's have a 1 3/4 neck, so the #1 neck feels very easy to play with the smaller width. This is also my first time playing a new US G&L that's been through the plek system. Very impressive. And the greatest thing about it is the tone! This is by far the best sounding guitar I have ever owned. The most consistent thing I've read about the Fallouts are how versatile it is. This is very true. The Seymour Duncan pairs very well with the P90. Like another member here mentioned, the middle position sounds great with both pickups. I've been using the P90 quite a bit. This guitar covers a lot of different styles of music.

Darwin: I agree, the belair green with the pearloid pickguard looks great!

Elwood: I actually slept through the day without sleepwalking! :happy0007: But funny you mention Ambien. I have a coworker who also works midnights who swears by Ambien. The only problem is, he is notorious for making Ambien induced phone calls and sending texts while in an Ambien induced slumber. He never remembers making the calls!

Scott, I will get some photos uploaded of the Fallout and the Superhawk this weekend.

Thanks,
Dave

Hello Dave, finally getting a guitar after a delay and having to wait another 24 hours must have been torture! I know it would have been for me. But I'm sure it made opening the box at the end all that sweeter. Glad to hear you're enjoying your new Fallout, but the key thing is, you've got a new Superhawk as well? I'm gonna have to look thru your past posts for more info! And yes please post pictures. :D

Dave,

Glad you were finally able to open the box. I'm currently in a waiting pattern too. The Nighthawk I got from ggjaguar arrived Thursday and had a similar sticker. So I left it in shipping (meaning it'll stay behind locked doors) but I wasn't able to pick that up yesterday. A hog S-500 arrived yesterday in down in shipping slowly warning up. So that is a double tease :(

But can you imagine what Monday will be? A DNGD (Double New Guitar Day)! :happy0065:

Man Jos, I would be going absolutely crazy waiting for Monday! Congrats on the two new purchases! Can't wait to see them and hear your thoughts on them.

HowlinWolf: The Tribute Superhawk is a fine guitar. I really love the neck on it, and it's nice having a Rampage type guitar with the neck pickup and tone knob. The stock pickups sound great, and for the price you can't find a better guitar. But I love Seymour Duncan pickups, so I am probably going to put the same pickups that are in the US Superhawk. My only complaint about the guitar is the nut. I don't know if I just got a bad one or they are all like this, but I need to replace it with a bone nut ASAP. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it.

Here is a quick photo of the two, fingerprints and all  . I am uploading new photos to the porn section in a few minutes.

Thanks,
Dave
