Has this system been installed, either by G&L or by an owner on the guitar? If so, which model of the Tonical tuners was used?
I'm having a Legacy made and might want to have this factory installed.
Thanks

Not likely by the G&L factory. I had to search the web for this product since I have not heard of it. I checked Tronical'sHaolemon wrote:Has this system been installed, either by G&L or by an owner on the guitar? If so, which model of the Tonical tuners was used?

list of guitar models they support and don't see any G&L models listed (in their Templates PDF).
I checked the options page on G&L's website and the current G&L Price List and it is not listed. The only tuner option available
from G&L is locking tuners.
You would have to install these aftermarket.

Re: Tronical Tuners
Thanks. I was aware of the lock of specific info on the Tronical site.
For those interested, this is the aftermarket version of the Gibson robotuners. They are supposed to tune accurately to within +- 1 cent. As someone who has used a strobe tuner for over 30 years, I would be quite happy with that, and it makes it very easy to try out alternate tunings.
I've put in a query to them about using with a G&L, and will post it here if I find any useful info.
BTW, I have not used the system except on a store demo Gibson, and am not in any way affiliated with them. It just seems like a possibly useful option.

Re: Tronical Tuners
Unless I'm really tired, my ears tune to within +/- 1 cent all by themselves. I can't see why I would spend on auto-tuners, especially when every individual piece of music / guitar / string set really wants its own micro-tweak by ear.

Re: Tronical Tuners
My sense of relative pitch is still excellent, so I have no trouble tuning, but it takes a bit of time. Also, in a live setting, being able to tune quickly and to change quickly between tunings would be very valuable to me. For some reason, I don't have a guitar tech tuning guitars and handing me a fresh one between songs This setup still allows manual tweaking if you don't like where the robo tuning puts things.
But I agree, I don't think that this is for everyone.
