Music video I made for a local band... 'Ivy St.'

Post by offplanetfilms »

I just finished making this video for a local Tasmanian Band "Ivy St."... it took me a few months drawing all the faces & landscapes, and about 3 nights of editing. (I love their "Picture Machine" album too... they remind me of an Australian version of Joy Division, although this single is more psychedelic than their other material.)

That was so cool. Great artistic work. I loved the faces, especially the last one, which had shown a few times earlier, as if checking in on things as it went on. The shaking tree roots were also an interesting, mood effect. It all went very well with the song. Thanks.

That was really well done! I can see why that took a month to pull off.

Yes, it was a tricky shoot... the drawings are just watercolor & ink. Most of the effects were done in-camera (except for the fades & transitions.) The rotation/spin effects were just drawings shot on a record player. I also used water poured into the record player's lid to create the ripple effects. (I was manually splashing the water in sync to the music with my fingers!)
