NGD Fallout

Post by MJ Slaughter »

I've had the guitar for a couple of weeks and wanted to wait to post about it until I had some quality time with it. It was acquired from a fellow forumite, Lee W, and the transaction went perfectly and the guitar is in like new condition. I've seen "new" guitars in music stores that looked more used than this. Though the color wasn't my first choice but I've grown to really like it. Especially with the white pickguard Lee had put on it. Thanks again Lee.

Not a lot of posts about the guitar yet so I thought I'd give my 2 cents worth. Honestly, when I first saw the guitar online it didn't really appeal to me but my opinion changed over a short period of time to the point where I just had to have one. Now I think its a great, easy to play, good sounding funky little guitar that is unique to my others. When I first picked up the guitar I was surprised at how light weight it is. The body is a little smaller than my Legacy's so I imagine that has something to do with it. The P90/JB pickup combination works great for me playing in bands doing a variety of material. I've done a few gigs with it so far and have used it on songs by Ozzy, GnR, Adele, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Michael Jackson etc. Its just a very simple, versatile guitar works for me on a lot of different material.

After receiving the guitar I did my own setup which is very little relief and strings close to the fret board with little to no fret buzz. I've become a big fan of the PLEK method. One of my Legacys I bought new was PLED'd and plays just as well as the Fallout.

That's all for now. Time to go play.

Very nice MJ. I saw that one on the market place and wondered why it was selling. I have also grown fond of the Fallouts. -- Darwin

MJ, you're very welcome and I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'd have a raging case of seller's remorse if not for the fact that I replaced it with another Fallout. I just love these things.
