G&L On-Line Store current items discussion poll

Post by Craig »

Hi All,

While checking about availability of the new DFS trem blocks on the On-Line Store, I asked if it would be helpful to them if I polled the members here about
what items they might be considering for upcoming purchases. Here's John's reply:
Hi Craig,

Sorry that we ran out of stock on the DFS block, some of the blocks are used for production, as I believe David had mentioned. They take a while to manufacture.
I’m now able to get a steady flow in each month to meet the increasing demands now. If you would like to conduct a poll of how many potential customers are interested,
that could really help us out as we refine the webstore and inventory control.

DFS blocks are now back in stock.

Many thanks,

John McLaren Jr.
I'd like to expand this poll to all of the items currently available from the On-Line Store.

So, what items are you considering purchasing from the On-Line Store in the next 6-12 months? Please list each item and
If you plan to purchase more than one of an item, please include the quantity you are considering.

I will pass this information collected here on to John in a couple of weeks.

Thanks.

I'm probably good for two .... I'm going to it least up date my new G & L Legacy and SC 2 with them , it's one of those I wish I would have ordered it that way in the begining deals , the same with locking tuners on these two guitars , my other DF guitars are 2000 , 1996 and 1984 so I too would be interested to know if they will work on the older models

My order last week was:

Will Ray Comanche Pickup
2 old style trem arms
2 old style trem arm collars
2 sets trem tension screws and nylon inserts
1 set brass saddles

My order this week:
2 1018 blocks
1 set brass saddles
1 set old style trem pivot screws
1 old style trem arm
1 old style collar

I'd really, really like to see them add the brass blocks as a part. It would be nice to have the option of brass or 1018 when upgrading a tribute trem, as brighter guitars would do better with brass, neutral or darker guitars with 1018.

I was hoping to find a tremolo arm for a Floyd Rose equipped Invader. The Online Store doesn't have any Floyd Rose parts. I know the number of Floyd Rose equipped G&L's is small, but it would be nice if the parts were available for them.

If I read correctly, the new blocks only fit '96 models and newer. If that's true I'm out of luck. It it will fit my '94 Legacy, then I'm in for a new trem block.

The only new thing I would try is the special wound pup found in the Blue Dress and boy if someone could find the time to scrounge through the bins for some Leo era parts and pieces I guarantee that <censored word> would fly off the shelves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll only buy to adapt / fix G&L's that I work on or that I own, not to make hotrods.
Recently / currently:

A white Will Ray back Z-coil, to go in the WR that is currently on order for me, in its middle position.
A white regular Z-coil, for me to lift the ground on, for the same guitar in neck position. This is to give Jerry Donahue-type half-out-of-phase options. I know from experience how easy it is to damage Z-coils, and don't want to get stuck without a neck pup on this guitar if anything goes wrong! And I can put it back to stock if needed for any reason, I'll still have the original pup.
A cream Asat Special neck pup, for the same earth-lift procedure / reason as the WR, this is for an Asat Special that's currently on order.
A Saddle-Lock, also for the Special, so I can drill it for a B-Bender (I have the hipshot ready to fit).

I guess I'll order around this quantity every 6-9 months, just a guess but always have work / ideas on the boil.
Great to have the shop we have now, brilliant.

I've just got replacement trem screws.

I'm thinking about a bridge and maybe MFDs for a partscaster project.

I didn't see Graph-tech nuts there but if they stocked the them I'd buy one.
