Help with an ASAT Deluxe pickup

Post by redjdtele »

Hello all,
I was raising the polepiece on the neck pickup of my Tribute ASAT Deluxe when the polepiece dropped a couple of mm down into the pickup. It is still visible and turns as normal but is clearly not engaging into the screw hole and I can't raise or lower it which means I can't get it out.
The string volume dosn't seem to be affected too much but it looks wierd with one screw down below the lip of the pickup cover .
Any ideas for a fix ?

Can you please post a photo of this? (see Tutorial: Posting photos).
I will then send it to Paul at G&L and ask him about it.

I contacted Paul and sent him your post and photo. Here's his reply:
Hi Craig,

If the person wants, we can send him a replacement pickup for him to install. Otherwise it needs to come in for replacement by our guys. If you want to put this person in contact with us just shoot him my email and I'll take care of him.

Thanks,
Paul
I'll PM Paul's email address to you.

Hope this helps.

Hello Craig,
Is there any update on this one ?
To be clear I was hoping for a quick fix, (maybe if the insides are easy to access), rather than a replacement- particularly as I live in the UK and any transport costs would probably be expensive. Perhaps paul can outline the options.

Based upon Paul's reply (see my previous post), the pickup will need to be replaced. He gave you two options and I sent you his email address for
you to contact him with your choice of one of those options. You need to contact Paul and he will take care of it.

I apologise for the poor typing on my previous email- I had problems with a sticky keyboard. What I meant to say was I haven't received your email with Pauls email address. Could you please resend it.

PROBLEM SOLVED!
Paul Gagon has despatched both a bridge pickup and a neck pickup together with a wiring diagram to me here in the UK at no cost (even though only the bridge pickup had the problem). I have now replaced the pickup and everything works perfectly.
I have to say that I have never experienced a level of service as high as this from any manufacturer before . Thanks to Paul and thanks G and L - your service quality is right up there with the quality of your products.
