Seen at my local G&L dealer

Post by patricks »

Wandered into Watermelon Music in Davis a couple of days ago and right there, staring at me from the entry way, was a Black Ice ASAT Classic Bluesboy
Absolutely stunning in the flesh, I had to turn around and run right outta there, or I would have bought it.

Gotta give credit to the music shop, they're only small (and in a small town), so most of their stock is of the "cheap and cheerful" variety, but they know quality - almost all of their top-shelf guitars have a G&L logo on the headstock

I've got some errands to run, so I'll try to sneak in and get some pics today - I'll have to leave my wallet at home, though!

cool ... my local G & L dealer is finally getting some inventory too , a shoreline gold Legacy is on the wall and a Blues boy is due in anytime after he had a couple years of no G & L's on the wall its nice to walk in and pick one up ... hopefully that's a sign the economy is turning around or G & L's are gaining some steam in the guitar market

That shoreline gold Legacy sounds nice

As promised, here's a photo of the Black Ice Bluesboy:

I'm pretty lucky with these guys, they have 5 or 6 USA-made G&Ls on the wall (including a couple of the new Fallouts), plus another half dozen Tributes (Legacy, S-500, Bluesboy, even a Tribute Will Ray Z3). It was great being able to actually try a few before I bought the Tribute Comanche :D

No worries
If anyone wants to buy it, I can look after it while they come to pick it up or arrange shipping. Just a heads-up, though, I'm prone to bouts of selective amnesia, so I may forget that it belongs to someone else... ;)

I have a foolproof way of avoiding Evilbay purchases - I can't stand the site, so I never go there in the first place :D
I don't like shopping online in general, Amazon's gotten my money a few times, but only when I know exactly what I want.

I don't know how evil ebay is, I just snagged an '09 SC-2 USA Ruby red with DF for $511...

That's a great score! I'm sure it's not all evil, I just had some bad experiences early on. Staying away does help keep me honest, though :)

evilbay pays off sometime. Found a first issue 4x12 Bedrock cabinet for $153 and it's headed across the country to me from New Jersey. That's $153 SHIPPED...... I've been looking for one of these for ten years, and am kicking myself that I missed the bottom cabinet that ended the day before (which went for $140 SHIPPED!)

Plays super sweet. Very nice piece. I am going to do the DFS upgrade on it. Perhaps have the pup covers swapped to black.
