Craig questions about off-menu items???

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

Craig questions about off-menu items???

Post by Salmon »

Craig,

Can you contact Dave at the factory and ask whether any of the off-menu items are not being offered currently?

A dealer has said that G&L is working strictly from the dealer price list and not doing anything off-menu at this time.

I am interested in the Old School Tobacco Sunburst and pickup switching expander option to have a push/pull in the middle knob position instead of the toggle on an S500.

A dealer said G&L is not offering the OSTSB except on those limited series Savanahs and the push/pull is not an option on an S500 (non-Deluxe) even though it is implied that any pickup offering an expander switch can have that option in the off-item listing here:

Thank you.

I've sent your post to Dave and post his reply once I get it.

Stay tuned.

Hi,

Just wondering whether there has been any word at all on this?

I'd like to make a decision whether to go custom or buy something pre-built.

A pre-built I have my eye on is at risk of being sold.

If going custom I'd like to get the process rolling.

Thanks

No, I have not yet heard back from Dave on this. As soon as I do, I will post a followup.
But if you have your eye on one that's already built, I would go for it.

It is sound advice a bird in the hand is something in your hand compared to a bunch off in the bushes. I was hoping for this guitar to be special and the pre-built is not special enough to purchase without knowing whether I can order something how I intended. There have been guitars that I would not have hesitated to grab if they were still available when I discovered them.

Thanks again
