Large Ding Repair In Finish on A G&L ASAT Specail

Large Ding Repair In Finish on A G&L ASAT Specail

I recently loaned out my 1996 G&L ASAT Specail to a friend and the guitar came back with two rather large dings in the tinited finish that are down to the ash body. They are on the top edge og the guitar and are really nasty looking on my once uber mint ASAT Specail. Anyone have any ideas on how these two missing finish dings can be repaired or at the least does any one know of a place where I can send the body to get these dings repaired ?

Please post some photos showing the dinged areas, so that our knowledgeable members can help provide suggestions.

Yes: take the guitar to your favorite local luthier and make sure your "friend" gets sent the bill. Before taking it to get repaired, though, you might want to hit your pal in the face with it -- twice.

We need to see some pictures. I would not trust a local Luthier to do this. A good paint man may be more qualified. -- Darwin

a luthier should be able to handle, but it's beyond a tech's skill set. i am surprised that people are still confused about which one is which.

big jim nash, i think you need to learn that you can lend out your wife, but never a guitar or a motorcycle.
