Blue Swirl '96 Legacy Special

Post by green swirl »

I tried to put up the pics but I must be brain dead. The album on Photobucket is below. I put the 2 swirl G+L's together in a pic and also for comparison twinned it with a Fender Gold Elite and Fender USA Customshop in trans blue. The writing inside says Blue Swirl #1 ....whatsup there. There is also LSM, or LM, or M written in each area of neck pocket or pickguard cavity....who is this dude. Also there is no markings on the pups. It has had a fret level and setup now and plays great. Very happy to have twin swirls.

You'll need to get to the true source URL of the image file, in your case the jpg. When you do that all will work fine:

Hope this helps,

P.S. I noticed that in a different post, Ken already got you on the right path. So just ignore this one.

thanks guys....I am thrilled to have 2 colors of swirl in a telecaster and stratocaster style. Ya, the LSM is puzzling to me. Why would it stand for Legacy Special Maple? The neck is very pain maple not like my green swirl BEM neck on my ASAT. Certainly they would not put fancy maple on the body and then swirl paint it. How about the 2nd pic where it shows the neck joint with hand writing that says ""Leg SPL #1""....what's that all about. I think it may be the guys initials and this is his first legacy special he has made. Thoughts?

because it's a Legacy Special that was built with a Maple fretboard ?!
I don't think BEM was an official designation until later .

The #1 neck (size)was designated to be used for a Legacy SPeciaL. (not sure how you got on about the body wood.)

I think your trying to hard

Thanks Elwood...your answers help my questioning mind. I have sometimes been accused of trying too hard but I never think that ignorance is bliss. You have cleared up my questions and that will be the end of it...thanks.
