Custom Necks

Post by Skydoggy »

Hey Everyone, first time posting anywhere i use this forum so much that I actually reregistered. I'm going to order a G&L legacy rustic soon but I want one with a "V" neck with the specs of the 1c "U" neck. Can this be done? It would make it the perfect neck for my fat little hands. In terms of other necks I like the Fender clapton neck is sweet, but the Eric Johnson 'V" neck is too fat at the 12th fret. Thanks every one.

Officially, only the neck options listed on the main G&L website are available.

For your reference, here are the measurements of the 1c-G&L Modern "U", 1d-G&L Modern "V", and 2a-G&L Vintage "V":

The 1c depth measures 0.850" at the 1st fret and 0.910" at the 12th fret.
The 1d depth measures 0.890" at the 1st fret and 0.930" at the 12th fret.
The 2a depth measures 0.830" at the 1st fret and 0.960" at the 12th fret.
All profiles have a +/- 0.015" tolerance.

You might check with your G&L dealer and ask them if they could contact the factory and see if they can soften the V closer to the 1c neck measurements.
There is no guarantee that the factory will do this for you, but it does not hurt to ask.

Please let us know your results of this special request.
