G&L Asat Special 1999

Post by Wileyone »

Hi All. New to the Forum and just purchased my first G&L an Asat special from 1999. Love the Guitar but don't think I can live with the Black hardware. There doesn't seem to be alot of parts sources for G&L does anyone know where I can purchase these parts in chrome? Thanks

I like the black hardware myself (always looking for good spare parts..if you end up parting with yours)

The Bridge they have listed on the G&L site says it is for 2006 and newer. I sent them an email asking if it would work on my 1999. But no answer as yet.

Give Chris at least 3 business days after you sent your email. Which email address did your send you email to?

Welcome aboard, and congrats on the ASAT!

You might find a couple of folks around here willing to trade. There have been a few comments lately wishing that G&L would bring back the black hardware as an option. It has an '80s vibe from the early days of the ASAT and its predecessors, the Broadcaster and SC-2.

+1 on black hardware. It's why I fell for my 3 bolt ASAT. Everyone has chrome but only a few (oldies?) have black. You don't see rust and pits on black hardware like you do on chrome. Black rules!!!!

True. Spend a couple of weeks around here and see if the "Leo-era" bug gets you. Then you will find that black crinkle hardware looking nicer and nicer...
