I had an early 80s Shyhawk, and this is my first since then. Love the look ,and feel. It was said to be original ,but I have doubts. I'm working on the tone. Something doesn't seem right there.

Re: My new to me Legacy .
It looks all original, is it the pickups/guts that you think might have been altered?
What's it sounding like now ? and what sounds aren't quite right? **

Thanks Elwood. I'm pretty sure the guard isn't original. The inside is marked TORT GD. The middle pup has red/yellow leads, and the selector switch looks like it isn't completely wired according to the layout. I'm also told the middle ,and bridge pups aren't installed correctly. It just sounds bland fro the demo I have heard on these.

If you love everything else about your guitar, then getting it back to stock electronics shouldn't be too hard or expensive. Just be sure that whoever does the wiring understands the PTB circuit!

I hope you get her back up and running smooth soon! That is a sharp colour combo.

I just don't know if the pickups are original. I know the center pot was replaced with non-original. I'll wire it myself. Should be fine as long as the wiring diagram is correct.

Hard to tell from the photo, but is it white on white or white on cream?

Re: My new to me Legacy .
From the photo in your other post, I believe the bridge and neck pickups are originals. I do not currently own a Legacy, but I do have a set of Legacy pickups. The leads are black and white, and the bases look just like yours. The middle pickup is aftermarket, judging by the leads. You can get a replacement from G&L's on-line store (http://g-l-online-store.myshopify.com/c ... oil-pickup). I am not sure how to tell the neck/bridge pickups from the middle pickup (when they are out of the guitar), but I am sure others around here can help with that. I will be interested in any responses, so I can figure out which is which in my set of spares.gtrplayr1976 wrote:I just don't know if the pickups are original.
