My Woody Collection

Post by gaxeman »

Just took these pics today of my G&L/Fender guitars, since they are all 'woody' looking I thought the name was good. The best sounding are the two G&Ls (butterscotch ASAT special and two-tone sunburst Legacy), who here would be surprised? The easiest to play is the Fender Strat with walnut neck, feels almost like a shredder. The more unusual one is the rosewood warmoth partsocaster telly, I bought it as is. Heavy as a mother, all the wood is warmoth solid rosewood, all the parts are Fender. I plan on changing some of that soon, depending on what I learn over the next few weeks.

Thanks for all the comments! I really appreciate them, since I am trying (kind of in vain) to peruse my collection to find something to get rid of. Need to 'thin the herd' as they say, but you are helping me to see that all of these should stay.

My taste in guitars leans toward figured tops, bright colors (think PRS), but the G&L/Fenders seem right with natural wood tones.

BTW, regarding that burnt ash standard. I was told that Fender actually set the wood on fire, had to have the fire department on site during the process. :smoking030: I'm assuming that they then sanded down the wood so that only the burned grain lines remained, to get that look.

Those are the colors I go for. I'll post a pic later. I'm lefty though but I dig all those. Very nice. The burnt ash looks fantastic.
