Range of vintage neck tint

Post by jhahn812 »

Hello,

I'm looking to have a Legacy custom built, but was wondering about the neck tint. I've seen quite a few G&L's with the vintage tint, however, they all vary quite a bit. Some are a bit too orange for my taste, while others look great. I've also seen the light tint option, but am hoping to go a bit darker than that.

When having a guitar made, is it possible to request some shade in between vintage and light tint? Or is there really no control on how the shade of a neck will turn out?

Thanks!

See: Comparison of Neck Finishes for the current neck finishes.

Ever since the factory changed the method of application of the neck finishes, they have become very consistent and no more orange "cheetos" tint.
See What is TGN? .

Hope this helps.

Great, thanks! That orange tint must have been what I was seeing.
