Legacy neck pocket tag , I need some input

Finally took the neck off the Legacy and was wanting to know what all the tag info means , also wanting to up-date the registry with neck date ..... is one sticker the body and the other the neck ??... since they are about a month apart

bwb is the pg, black knobs and pup covers, rosewood neck #1. 3-4 is probably when the order was received (or the body date and they put the sticker on the wrong side), the 4-16 is when it was completed.

I was wondering if the body sticker was installed on the neck by mistake .... so how would you enter this in the registry ??

as a honeyburst, rosewood board legacy. i would go with 4-16-13 for the date.

I think he's asking about the optional "neck date" and "body date" in the registry information.

It looks to me like the neck is 4/16 and the body is 3/4.

What date does the spec sheet have for final evaluation?

I never bothered to take the neck off of mine. When I registered it, I left those spaces blank, and put the spec sheet build date in the remarks.

well , the rosewood was looking grey in some area's , I purchased a new set of 9.5's D'Addario's today along with some rosewood treatment so by that point I was just 4 screws away from neck removal , with the lighter strings I also had to loosen the trem spring , so I had about everything but the pickguard and bridge off today

I did change the order after a few weeks in , I changed GOT to satin with matching headstock , maybe thats where the time gap came from ?

How do you guy's pull the knobs off ??...... some of the protective plastic is still trapped under the knobs , would like to pull the knobs and remove plastic without hurting anything

Hey Eric,

Stew-Mac has a couple of neat knob pullers on their site.

But you could also use a couple of shoe laces or (cooking) twine, wrap them around the post once. By using 2 laces you can make it such that the string ends of both end up on opposite sides of the knob so when you are pulling up all ends, you aren't bending the stud one way or another.

Method B would involve a cloth, an old credit card, a screwdriver with a thin blade, and patience. With the cloth underneath, slide credit card under the knob and use blade to slightly lifting the knob by rotating it while making sure it is resting on the credit card and not the finish. Also make small movements, you don't want the screwdriver blade to cut the underside of the knob. As an alternative to rotating you can also find something to support the stem of the screwdeiver so it becomes a lever. Again, small movements is good.

IMO, nothing beats pure food-grade walnut oil. I use it on all of my rosewood and ebony boards except for the Warwick (which gets all the oil it needs when I Feed-N-Wax the body and neck).
