Hi everyone. New to posting on the forums.
Here's the first photo op. 1995 S-500 in honey.

Yup, some stupid reason, I thought it would be a good idea to keep the plastic on the pickguard

...BTW. Anyone know how to get rid of the rust, or should I just replace all the hardware? I live about 1km from the beach and play 75% of all my gigs on the water.

To replace all the rusted hardware including the tuners, you're probably looking at $300. You're probably not going to be able to remove the plastic from the pickguard, so that will set you back another $60 or so. The burst looks nice.
Does it need anything else? like frets?

You could try a sharp paint scraper to get the plastic off of the pick guard. I wouldn't bother changing the hardware, people pay extra for that sort of thing now

Re: Start posting the GirL&...
Lol. I always describe her as a burst and this was the first time I called her honey. Haha. I picked up a pick-guard from the Bay about 10 years ago. Wish I could find where I put it because I can't remember if it was a Legacy or S-500 guard.
The S-500 is my low-use G&L because of the weight. Feels twice as heavy but I know it's only a pound or two. The fret wear is noticeable up close and the only other aging is the pick-guard and the pitting. I'll keep all the original goodies on her to add to her character.
Hopefully I can snap a few shots of my Legacys' and Asat tomorrow.

My most recent. 1998 Legacy Butterscotch
[Edited because I wanted to add more info and I was only able to take one damn photo]
Anyway, the Butterscotch is the first 4-bolt G&L that I've owned. I haven't had a chance to compare the body to that of my 3-bolt 94 Cherry Burst. The 94 feels different, not so much because it's alder (I think) but the contours seem different. Could be that I'm used to the 94 as that is one of the three main gigging guitars I bring out. I'll have to take some side by side pics and see if there was some body design differences. I tried googling but didn't have much luck.
