It seems to be a regular Legacy, built in 1997 with no ordered features, good enough. :)

Body is swamp ash and the finish is obviously transparent, nowadays called "natural gloss".

For sure it's no Special, this would be shown on the head stock and it's no DeLuxe, because it has a pick guard.

Some kind of special is the neck counter plate's serial number, because it's starts with B, which stands for bass and not for guitar. But there are several guitars around sharing that feature. ;)

I've got a Legacy in similar age and despite the body finish, with the same features. It's the finest Strat I own and shares the attribute "best guitar I own" with my ASAT DeLuxe.

So, congratulations. :)

Miles Smiles is correct. Many 3-bolt guitar plates in the range 52000 to 55000 were mis-stamped with a B-prefix instead of the
usual G-prefix. It was a vendor mistake and the plates were used rather than wasting them. [reference: Serial number significance.

Don't forget to add your Legacy to our G&L Registry.

It's "Legacy" not "Legency".
