Questiom for ASAT Deluxe (USA) oweners.
Hi there,
After searching in the web for the ASAT Deluxe (USA) reviews/opinions -i concluded there is a shortage of information , and i decided to ask here.
Can any owner, of this briiliant guitar, can give me some review/opinion of this guitar ( especially the sound and the geners of music i can cover with this guitar - due to the coli split..)
Thanks!

Still, this would be the very guitar I would keep, if I was forced to give up all the other ones.
Doesn't have a particular sound, but you can use it for everything.
Can't tell you about the split function, cause mine has been build in 1996 and doesn't have that feature yet.

Go to YOUTUBE and search for ASAT Deluxe. There are numerous clips of this guitar in action--way more than I could post here.
Good luck on your quest.

i don't thin any guitar really limits what what genres one can play with them. only the player limits it.

I like the Legacy bodied guitars, and I'm not really an ASAT guy, but I do have an AD. It is a great guitar, about as versatile as a 2HB can be. Mine has the DF Vibrato, a pretty rare configuration. I like to use it in single coil mode for rrhythm and switch to HB mode for solos.
I mostly use a Paul or a 335 for most of my 2HB tones, but lately the AD has been getting more playtime. It doesn't sound like either the Paul or the 335, but it does produce some great rock tones.
Definitely recommended.

I have two ASAT Deluxes, one solid body from the late '90s and another a semi from a few years later. The semi is stock with the mini switch for splitting the pickups. The solid body has Duncan P-Rails and triple shot switching rings, the mini switch is still there but not functional.
Neither guitar sounds like a Les Paul, nowhere remotely actually, and they don't sound like a regular ASAT Classic or Special. They have their own sound, which is actually quite versatile.
The solid body with P-Rails is very versatile, and the single coil tones ( Rail ) are better.

Hi Zeldoom,
I have a quartet of ASAT Deluxes: a solid body '02 hog/maple cap Deluxe with G&L AW4370B bucker in the bridge and G&L AW4250B in the neck, an '11 solid body Korina prototype with Saddle-Lock bridge and the 'standard' Seymour Duncan pups, solid body Korina Collection Deluxe II with TOM bridge and 'standard' SD pups, also built in '11, and a '12 semi-hollow hog ASAT Deluxe prototype with TV Jone Filter-Tron pups (say the G&L version of the Fender's La Cabronita Especial).
The first 3 are absolute rock monsters, but I agree with SouthpawGuy and Boogie Bill in that they are certainly not Les Pauls. You can get fat tones and the pups easily overdrive the preamp stage of a good tube amp but there always seems to be a little more chime. These guitars have one of the nicest coil splits around which I like more than e.g. the coil-split on my PRS Artist II or McCarty. Rolling back the volume cleans up the sound very nicely. There are some very subtle differences between G&L pups vs SD pups and/or body wood but in the grand scheme of things not important enough. In short, the ASAT Deluxe is a very versatile guitar allowing you to cover a whole slew of heavier rock sounds.
The TV Jones Deluxe is a thing all in and by itself. It needed the most tweaking of the tone stack to open up the sound and after some hard work I found at least one sweet spot with some reverb making it an incredible rockabilly/surf sound guitar.
Hope this helps,
- Jos
