Re: G&L asat classic
you can run a wire to the pg to ground the static, or wipe it with a dryer sheet. that will eliminate static.

Re: G&L asat classic
on my 1st post i didnt say , so to be clear the static comes through the amp, i plugged another guitar in the same amp same settings same cord but got no static through the amp. like i said its only on the lower pick gaurd under the neck and middle pick ups where it does this, i can rub my finger above the low e string and get nothing. the way i noticed it was i was strumming and my little finger was rubbing the gaurd and i heard static. the guitar is about 2 months old and i dont remember ever hearing it before

I hear the same static after I polish my ASAT Classic. Wiping the pickguard with a dryer sheet will reduce/eliminate static.

It definitely sounds like you have static noise. As mentioned before, try a dryer softner sheet on the pickguard.deluxe strat 2012 wrote:on my 1st post i didnt say , so to be clear the static comes through the amp, i plugged another guitar in the same amp same settings same cord but got no static through the amp. like i said its only on the lower pick gaurd under the neck and middle pick ups where it does this, i can rub my finger above the low e string and get nothing. the way i noticed it was i was strumming and my little finger was rubbing the gaurd and i heard static. the guitar is about 2 months old and i dont remember ever hearing it before
This is also mentioned in the G&L Knowledgebase, G&L Tech Tips sub-forum: Static Noise.
Two other options I can think of are:
1. Replace the plastic pickguard with a metal pickguard.
2. Eliminate the pickguard altogether.
Hope this helps.

Yes, that works well.
I've had static with quite a variety of guitars, just seems to vary with the weather (more when dry). Just one of those things.
