Yeah, the playability and fret finish is absolutely top notch. Both E strings are a bit closer to the fretboard edges than on my other guitars so I have to focus more on proper fingering but with .010-.052 strings it's a non-issue.

hello Germany

I got also ASAT Super. I wonder black serial number, mine got white one.
Is this some later model, sent to europe after those first 58 ?
Album Jari is mine #57 CLF 10035, also found in register.

Location Finland and I guess this is the only one in this country.

Regards

Jari

That Super ASAT is a gorgeous look! :alright:

What's the type of wood and the finish coloring?

Very nice.

That is great. Looks like Equatoral Mahogany with 3 t sunburst but I could be wrong.--Darwin

The grain in the woods of that guitar are outstanding. I'd want to pick it up just to hold it, never mind playing it!

It's not Equatoral Mahogany, but it is Mahogany.

It looks like Tobacco Sunburst to me, but the German distributor could have exchanged the Tortoise pickguard with one
of the extra Black pickguards on one of the 3-Tone Sunburst guitars.

There was a short run of this model sent to Germany in 2010: [see Custom Creations ASAT Super page page]
Germany
3-Tone Sunburst, Tortoise pickguard - 3 units
3-Tone Sunburst (satin finish on both neck and body), Tortoise pickguard - 1 units
Tobacco Sunburst, Black 3-ply pickguard - 4 units
Vintage White (matching headstock and neck rear), Tortoise pickguard - 4 units
[3 extra Black 3-ply pickguards supplied]

In my view it's two-tone sunburst in a glossy finish, the fade looks very similar to my L-1500. So it should be one of those four items listed in the third line of that website excerpt. I'm pretty happy with the 3-ply black pickguard, tort or perloid ones are not my favorites.

The guitar continues to amaze me everytime I pick it up. It's a mystery to me why it did not sell. It must have been sitting in the shop for way more than a year...
