I located a 1996 Legacy Special that is for sale for $900 without the original case. I played it and was considering trading a Marshall VS100 amp and Fender Deluxe player strat for it and a little cash. I've was wondering how much cash I should offer.
Thanks for the help.

Re: 1996 Legacy Special
I think the asking price is too high. I LOVE the LS model...I have three. I would expect to pay $650--750 for a LS of that vintage in excellent unmodified condition. But because so many G&Ls are factory "customs", I might pay a little more for one that is nice. For example, an ash body in a premium finish in a color I like with a matching headstock finish, birdseye neck, gold hardware, ebony board, and vintage neck tint might all be factors in my willingness to pay.
No certificate, no vibrato arm, iffy case--all drive my offer price down. Other mods, like pickups...probably down. BTW the Gotoh Blades are excellent pups. Routing....hell no! I'm not inclined to pay extra for strap locks, but I do like Schallers when I use them.
In the end, the biggest factor is always the thickness of my wallet!
