Hey all,
I've got a new (used from 2012) american ASAT Classic, it sound great, gorgeous, and so much fun to play with.
It got spank, bite, sparkle, and twang. I love the neck. Smooth and fast, very comfy.
makes me late to work everyday, and miss her when I'm at work.
I think I'm going to change the 3 way, to a 5-way narrow super switch I have, to be N==>N+B Serial==>N+B Parallel==>N+B Parallel/Half out of Phase==>B, just to get some extra from it.
Also have a stacked 250/500 CTS pot. I'm thinking of buying a G&L 1m pot and replacing the wafer on the 250 with the 1M wafer and setting up a concentric ptb control.
Any thoughts about that, anyone??
Glad and proud to be a new member of the G&L community.
Tom

Wow.
You sir, have a really nice guitar.
have you messed with it yet: intonation, trussrod, saddles, pups?
I'd have it good and sorted before I messed with the (already completely badass) electronics. JMHO. 5 way switch? fine, makes sense, and if I ever switched off bridge pup i could tell you what it might sound like (lol). It sounds like you know what you're doing, but completely bone stock this guitar completely exemplifies "the" tele and will have no problem generating fat signal and associated tone. Check it out George and Leo's way first.

P.S. dontcha love the neck?

Re: Got me an ASAT, and loving every minute
@TMO, Thanks for the tip.
I'll have to wait a bit untill I'll be able to source out for the parts (I want to get some good caps, etc).
I do love it as it is, just think it could get more "interesting" this way.
I think I'll get a new control plate, and keep the stock one as it is, so I can change it back in (maybe use connectors for the pickup leads, ground and output),
It was setup on the spot, btw. plays like a dream, sounds like one too
The biggest problem with it, is that now I really want to get an S-500, or Legacy too.
