Hi Rich,

1988-1991 S-500 Signatures are listed in the Blue Book as $1,200 (mint condition) to $675 (good condition). The one year off error is not anything to worry about bacause the original owner might have bought the instrument in '92.

That could be a decent price, but what kind of condition is the guitar in? Any mods? Fretboard wood? Body wood and finish? All of these will come into play in evaluating the price. These instruments weren't cookie-cutter production, so unusual or premium features could drive the value up. Mods could make the value go away very quickly. You'll get the best input if you can give a detailed description or (better yet) post a photo or two.

Just to be sure you're aware, the signature is a decal under the topcoat. Some sellers try to claim they are autographs...

Also, for it to be a Signature Series model, the Leo Fender signature decal will be on the upper horn of the body.
