This is my first all tube amp, and a 6V6 Class "A" at that. I have one other really, that is my Vox AH50VT, a hybrid modeling amp. The little Fender G dec and the Orange Crush dont count- gave both of those to my son.

That looks very nice - I'll have to check it out!
I very nearly pulled the trigger on a Cornford Carrera this morning, but I'm going away for a few days so thought I'd wait until I got back in case the overnight delivery was a day late!

Great looking amp Jag. I have always wanted a Rivera but have settled for the Fenders, some of which he developed. Great catch!-- Darwin

First amp I played a G&L through was a Rivera 40 watt 2x12. Funny how things come full circle. This thing is the best of vintage and modern. It had the best of all the boutique amps I was looking at plus the line out, efffects loop, watt attenuation, etc.

Good enough for Wil Ray and the Hellecasters, good enough for me. 8-)

That looks great. I only recall hearing a few Riveras, but all of them sounded great.

Incidentally, I have a Korina Jr. II on the way.

Thanks Will! The split grill gives one the impression of a 2x10, but it is a single 12" Celestion 30W Heritage Speaker.

Thanks. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

The Jerry Donahue / Paul Rivera video is great, too. Thanks for posting that.

Your first all-tube amp?!
I bet that feels like guitar heaven to play through.
The JD vid is great. For the sounds and the guitarist! Totally agree about that "old" sweet amp vibe, and for me 6V6s do it the best.

Of course, only half as good than a G&L would do. :D

That's only for sound, the looking is ..... not good at all.

That guitar is the Peavey Jerry Donahue Signature Omniac guitar, now apparently no longer in production. And the guitar Jerry picked over the G&L ASAT JD-5 produced about a year prior.

His latest Sig is the Fret-King JD Black Label. Overall, seems like the same guitar has been made by four different manufacturers- Fender, G&L, Peavey, and now Fret King.

Got a chance to rehearse for the the first time with the Riv. Phenominal tone! Great versatility as well. Played half the rehersal with the '87 Skyhawk and the other with the '65 Jaguar.
