I have a very nice john jorgensen that was also found in this same storage unit along with many other G&L guitars. what is a fair market price for a mint John Jorgensen?

i don't think so, they let him in an outfit called the hellecasters after all.
A bunch of wankers, I heard.
Will
You're probably right Will. Guitars with inlaid skulls, B-benders, sparkle finishes - all well known ploys to distract from the fact they can't play for peanuts.
Been laughing loud and hard reading all reactions.
Alright, here an answer for DRPHATMATT. A guitar with the signature of one of these wankers on the headstock is going for something between $1,750 fro a closet new to $1,350 for a mint to $850 for a very good example. Of course in the end it is whatever the market will bear. Also look closely as the pickguard because there are 2 version for the JJ Signature. The first batch had a transparent pickguard much like a drumnhead through which you would see the sparkle in the finish. Most JJ Sigs however have a pickguard with sparkles sandwiches between 2 layers. The first batch, at least in ly book, is worth a skosh more.

you'd hear that if you listened to them, but i know you know better than to do that.
Try as they may, those Hellecaster wankers can't hold a flame to the stellar guitar playing found on the new Justin Bieber record. And have you heard the new Britney Spears CD? Now THAT'S guitar playing, none of that noodly-noodly stuff.
BTW DRPHATMATT, I'll give you a crisp $100 bill for that JJ model because I wanna help ya out.

A crisp $100 bill you say? What do you do to it, Will? Toast it in the oven first?

Don't be silly. I first spray it with Magureders Spray Starch #6, then I carefully use a 1960's Sunbeam ST-12 industrial steam iron to iron it flat. Finally, I take a Volvo Manhattan Model steam roller to finish the job.

$100.00 will not buy this guitar.
But maybe worked for you.
I'm from Europe, I didn't know about that storage hunter stuff TV-show. That show isn't reality, I'm sure. But yours may be a good story for them.

Maybe you can try trading it for the signature model from one of those other Hellecaster guys.

try trading it for a will ray signature as tbp said. that's another joker from the hellecasters. ask helle-man, he might have a few of those, and i know he doesn't care for those guitars too much.

At one time they got up to $1500 but the economy supported that.
Nowaday, I can't see a mint one selling for more than $1100.
I'd think $1000 is a safe average, but I did see one go for $850 not too long ago.
Tim
Hi Tim, I actually did one of my Guitar Player Mag articles about a JJ model I bought around 2001 for $550 off ebay.
It came with a HSC and 2 EXTRA MFD pickups inside the case too! The seller also had JJ personally sign the headstock, although I don't think a 2nd signature really adds any to its value.

just to fill you in on some of the characters. i don't know if you realized yet, but helle-man is John Jorgenson's band mate Will Ray.
