ASAT JR. II becoming a regular production model???

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

ASAT JR. II becoming a regular production model???

Post by blargfromouterspace »

I was looking at the prototypes section on G&Ls webpage and was quite taken with this one:

This bit of text in the description is interesting
As you can see, this piece of Spalted Alder looks great on this ASAT Junior II prototype, a model we’ve been in love with since we launched it with the Korina Collection.
The way this sounds to me is that this model could become a regular model - is that correct???

Certainly one way you can read that sentence Jamie! But it might also mean that no dealer has claimed this specific guitar yet and that it will become available to be shipped out somewhere in the next 2 weeks. In that case, since we talk about a single instrument, the Junior II would not become a production model. I base my assessment on the statements at the bottom of the Black Ice prototypes, which at the time of writing haven't been sent out to a dealer either.

In any case, tthe exclusivity of your Junior II is not the model designation nor the pups nor the TOM bridge but the body wood ;)
At least I expect the pups to show up elsewhere, less so the TOM, but Korina better stay exclusive :fighting0030:

What? More Korina for everyone I say. :BangBang:

Kidding aside. I would love to see the Jr. II be in regular production. Be it, in any wood... ok, except basswood. I would really love the korina one but I can't afford it right now. I just cleared the checking account and my wife is being more than gracious.... for now. :problem:

It seems too perfect for a lot of things just to keep limited.
On a related note, I checked Dave's Guitar's used listings this morning and saw a newly listed 2001 ASAT Junior for what I thought was a really tempting price. Did some stuff, came back just now to take a look and maybe call them, and it's gone. Whoever got it, nice job.
