That's an interesting idea, meowmix, but I really only tend toward locking tuners for guitars with vibrato bridges. Have you found the stock "G&L"-stamped Schallers to not hold tuning stable on your fixed bridge G&Ls?meowmix wrote:...You could always get the locking tuners. The only place I know who sells them that match the G&L headstock pin holes is Stewmac.
Have to confess: I didn't order this one to my specs, just fell in love with it as is!yowhatsshakin wrote:Absolutely gorgeous and congrats!![]()
I like your attention to detail to even have a white top hat switch tip.

I'll tell you, at under seven and a quarter pounds, there's zero temptation to put it down!Elwood wrote:Damn !
That's one fine ASAT , it must be hard to put down .
I've got to say, I've always been a total sucker for a matching headstock facing.Elwood wrote:The matching headstock reminds me of the burst Skyhawks of the mid 80's.

Thanks, Ken. I got very lucky with the guitar, and the pics. I'm by no means a competent photographer (let alone guitar player!), but the sky was overcast this afternoon so I was able to shoot without concern that direct, bright sunlight would spoil the shots with unwanted glare and reflections. As for the guitar, I saw it last week pictured in JagInTheBag's "My favorite wall..." thread (http://guitarsbyleo.com/FORUM/viewtopic ... orite+wall), and once I inquired after it via PM, he was kind enough to put me in touch with Music Source, where Bob, the owner, was able to beat -- I know we can't talk prices here, so let me just say "by a significant margin" -- a dealer local to me who absolutely refused what I thought was my extremely reasonable (cash!) offer for a nearly identical example of this model that has been hanging on his store wall for nearly three years, and which can be seen on eBay. Having been soured by that experience, I can't recommend Bob and his staff (also a "Bob") and his store more highly; The great deal terms aside for a moment, the two Bobs were so pleasant on the phone, got the guitar onto the shipping truck the same day I purchased it, and it arrived quickly, completely unharmed, beautifully set up, and in tune and ready to play right out of the case. Not to shill too hard for these guys -- though I am a very satisfied customer -- but if you find yourself in the market for a new G&L, you'll at least want Music Source to be on your list of folks to call.KenC wrote:That's a beautiful guitar! On that note, I would like to take another moment and reiterate to those not already in business with Music Source on an LE-2 order that the store is well worth reaching out to should you even just be looking for a terrific deal on a more "garden variety" G&L plank. My transaction with Bob, who was dealing with a voice on the phone fifteen hundred miles away from him, was very, different -- in a great way -- than anything I've experienced at the MI retail chains and mom 'n' pops local to me.JagInTheBag wrote:Glad to see Bob take care of you. His shop is also the one doing the LE-2 orders. Enjoy, she looks even better than she did on the wall!
It's called "Gloss Light Tint" on the spec sheet, waynerd; makes for a nice, subtle contrast with the body/headstock, I think.waynerd wrote:God, that is beautiful. That headstock looks like butterscotch candy, I love it. Is there any tint to that neck?
I Don't live far from that dealer. I think I'll have to make a trip.

We all start somewhere! At least we look good while we suck.Lacking Talent wrote:Not when I play it!
I noticed a similar ASAT on ebay:Luzu wrote:
I'm thinking about ordering a similar one.
PM'd you re: the above.Luzu wrote:Sorry for digging out this thread but I like the looks of this one very much and I hope you are still happy with it!
I'm thinking about ordering a similar one.
Can you please give some information about the specs? What kind of body wood is this?
