Pickup selector switch

Post by rcurry »

I have a 1980 G and L F-100 series 1 and need an original 3 way pickup selector switch. Who has one I can buy?

Please place a Want Ad in the GbL Marketplace. We don't allow postings For Sale or Want Ads on the G&LDP. See READ ME FIRST: guitarsbyleo.com History and G&LDP Guidelines.

However, if someone knows of a commercial source for this switch, please post it here.

The G&l website sells switches and other parts.

I have not been able to find the correct three way switch at the G&L website store. Had ordered the "mini three way" but was not the one for my F-100.

I would check one of these:

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics ... tches.html

I guess at least the short one could fit in the cavity, but I don't know, if it would fit for the hole dia.

Short toggle switch for 2-pickup guitars
Dimensions
Thread height 11/32" (8.74mm)
Required mounting hole dia. 1/2" (12.70mm)
Required body cavity depth 7/8" (22.23mm)

Of course it would be better to find one of the original type.

Question: What's wrong with the current switch?

Both of my F-100s came to me with the switches cutting out. A shot or two of contact cleaner worked wonders. That was a relief, as I couldn't find direct replacements either.

Also, see this post: 1980's mini toggle switch.
