New To Me ASAT Classic Bluesboy

Post by wrfabus »

Hello All,

This is a great site. I just received in a trade an ASAT Classic Bluesboy, serial #CLF56965. Beautiful guitar and I would like to find out more information as to what it has. There is a manila hangtag and from what I gather, it has specs in abbreviations on it for this guitar. What I would like to know is what year it was produced, what is the color designation, and what features it has on it. Please look at the enclosed photos. Thanks so much in advance, and I look forward to participating in the forum.

The build year is likely 2010 based upon the serial number. To get the actual build date you will need to remove the neck and look for a date in
the neck pocket and/or the neck heel. The body wood is Swamp Ash with a Clear Orange finish with a natural wood binding (WB on tag) on
the top. The neck finish is a Tinted Glossy Neck (see What is TGN?). The fretboard is the optional Ebony wood (EB on tag).
The neck size is a #2 (1 5/8" nut with a 7 1/2" radius fretboard). See the spec page on G&L's main website: ASAT Classic Bluesboy.
It has a Creme pickguard (Creme on tag). The 56985 is the serial number minus the CLF.
The 288424 number is the factory number of the order submitted by a G&L dealer.

Hope this helps.

If you have yet added this guitar to our G&L Registry, please do.

Ken,

Thanks. The more I play it, the more it is growing on me. And yes, the ash looks great under the Clear Orange finish.

That body/pickguard combo reminds me of a cremesicle. I mean that in a very good way!
