Hi,
I've only been playing since around June 2012.
I have owned an Epiphone LP since then and really love it, but I wanted to get my hands on a strat style guitar. This is how I got my G&L.
This was partly due to my chronic case of GAS, but largely because I like to try new things and I kinda figured, "well if its good enough for SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton..."
So I was in the market for an inexpensive, but good representation, of what a strat can be. I tried a lot of MiM Fenders, Squires (some MiJ) but I never got that into them they all paled in comparison to every G&L Tribute I picked up. Even some of the American standards were, imo, of a lower overall feel than the G&L Tributes.
So after a month or so of this researching and testing I decided it would definitely be a G&L Tribute Legacy for me, I even picked the color I wanted - candy apple red metallic.
So I went back to my favorite guitar store and was chatting with the owner. I'm telling him how much I dig the Tribute Legacy and that it will be my next guitar but it HAS to be candy apple red. I'm a little bummed he doesn't have one on the wall because I've only seen them online.
Meanwhile, about ten feet behind me another employee is unpacking a few freshly shipped axes from Fullerton, CA. No lie, these things had arrived less than an hour prior to me walking in that day.
Guess what color the first one he unwrapped was?

You were obviously meant to have it. Or it was meant to have you. Either way, enjoy!

Re: My new G&L
Sorry for the sparse pics, I wasn't sure if that was to go here on in the G&L Pr0n section.
Sort of poor quality thanks to the idiotic photo/snapbucket app on my phone I was using.
This is my favorite pic, I took it about 15 minutes after picking it up the first in the store. If you look closely at the bridge, just in front of the saddles you can see there is some condensation on it from having just arrived in the store.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm loving this guitar. The neck makes me want to hold it all day.
I'm going to see about getting the frets dressed eventally. They are a little rough on the tops and edges.
I'm still flabbergasted by the high quality of this guitar. It feels so solid. There are a couple splatters in the finish but I'm just calling them angel kisses - cause this guitar must be heaven sent!

Nice! I didn't realize the Tributes had matching headstock. I picked up a Tribute SB2 with the metallic candy red finish a couple of years ago. If it's anything like yours then the photos don't do it justice. I bet yours looks even better in person then the pictures show.
enjoy,
Jeff

for sure the pictures are poor representations of it, I will try to get some better ones in the G&L porn section soon.
