Well I did it , I pulled the trigger

Post by Fumble fingers »

Ordered a new Legacy today from Centerville music !! ..... I odered a standard Legacy , Honey-burst , vintage tint kneck , rosewood finger board , black pick gaurd and pick-ups ..... C'ville music was very helpful , it was a good expeirence !! ..... I'm so excited I nearly pee'd my pants on the way home :silent: , lol ... they also have a nice used excellent condition ASAT classic blonde with maple finger board for 749.00 in stock , I'm half tempted to buy it too cause its a raven beauty

now for the hard part , "the wait" for it to get here ..... any recomendations to make the process better :D

Yes, that's easy. Just go get the ASAT to play while you wait. If one came up at that price in the UK, I wouldn't hesitate. :)

lol ... I thought about that right after I posted it ..... I probably could have got it had I only put down the 20 % minimum required to order the legacy but I put a lot more down , but if it's there in a week or two it just might find it's way to my house , not really a blonde guy and my eyes favor rosewood over maple but its so clean for what they are asking I'm sure I could probably get my money back out when I sell it ... next time there I will see what year asat it is ... they had a couple PRS that were real beauty's and a Duane Eddy Gretch hollow body with bigsby that I would love to have

Blarg ... try not to think about it ??? ..... thats easier said than done , .... I can't even begine to quit thinking about ...lol .... it would help if that darned on-line builder would break down for a few weeks :BadIdea:

I know, me too. I've got one on order too and it feels like I placed the order YEARS ago, but it was only 3 weeks :x

I made a offer on the ASAT today :) , found out it was on consignment so I shot them a offer , it's not the ASAT I would order new but if the price is right I'll snag it to make the wait better and re-coup some money back when I sell my Fender stratocaster .... with a little bit of luck I will own it this wednesday

That's what I would have done! I paid $749 for my blonde/maple ASAT Classic in 2010 in good condition, and still feel like I got a great deal on it.

You have been warned about how addictive G&Ls can be, right?

if they don't accept the offer I'm OK with it , I don't really like the color and finger board and will order a Classic S after the Legacy comes in with the options I want

16 more weeks : ( ..... they had to cancel my order on the new Legacy .... I wanted to change the vintage GOT neck to satin but add paint to match head stock and they said we would have to cancel the order and start a new order so thats what we did ..... the paint to match head stock is going to look so good with Honey burst , black PG and PU and rose wood finger board , I just had to change , I think it will be worth the extra week wait for my first new G & L ........ I wish that on-line builder would break down for about three months ...lol

I'm sitting here looking at my L-2K fretless - with an absolutely gorgeous Honey finish and satin BEM neck - and suddenly realizing that it would have been even more gorgeous with a color-matched headstock. I'm a big fan of GOT necks (part of the appeal of Leo-era instruments IMO), but I think your order change will work out very nicely in the end.

Is that the time they said orders are taking to fill at the moment? I read that it was down to as little as 6 with an average of 8 weeks when I placed my order in early Feb. I wonder if the release of all the new models at NAMM has to do with the sudden jump in wait time???

I hope your right !! ..... I think where I ordered mine "16 weeks" is just the standard time frame they say it takes , that would be a real pleasant surprise of a phone call telling me my guitar came in early
