I have an '88 Asat and a '92 Asat Classic that need fret work. In doing my homework it seems that Dunlop 6100 is the sugested match? The specs for 6100 are W/.110, H/.055. The existing width on the '88 and '92 both read about .093?? Didn't want to (want to try) not to disturb the original clear finish on the maple fret board. Too narrow and raw edges will show, too wide and the fret may not seat properly. What is the suggested fret wire? Anyone one have experience with this?
Thanks for any info

I will give it a go, (been working in a shop doing setups, fret levels, etc.) with guidance. Just would like opinion on the recomeded fret wire from someone who has been down that road.
Thanks Again

it should be whatever fret you prefer. but i would not learn on that guitar, as removing the frets without disturbing the clear on the maple is a very difficult thing, but changing fretwire size is not an issue, only what your preference is.

Vintage frets (Dunlop 6230) Note that Medium Jumbo (Dunlop 6100) frets are standard on all G&L guitar models
Hope this helps.
