My G&L's - "The Wall"
Hey Guys,
I haven't been around much lately as i have been busy renovating a teaching/studio space in my place. The work is almost complete, just a few little odds and ends. I thought i would share a few pics of the back wall....
I plan on picking up the lunch report in the near future and will dive into the rest of the space.

Scott, very nice indeed. You have several examples of the big MFDs. I that a lonely Jazzmaster on the end? -- Darwin

Thanks Darwin,
It is a Jaguar Baritone (reissue of the Bass VI from a number of years ago). It really is just a place holder...I have 11 spots on the wall and only 10 G&L's! Will it be the LE-2, a Bigsby? only time will tell

Love the warm inviting atmosphere..well done !!
I started hanging a few instruments on the studio wall...coolest art ever.
Like a painting you can dive into at will , especially if it's an instrument
with a lot of personal vibes imbibed.

I didn't know you had so many! And that SC-2 stands out for me, what a handsome guitar.

I didn't think you had that many guitars. Pretty cool looking setup. Do your students play those?

That's a gorgeous setup. I really like the recessed lighting above the guitars. I wouldn't have thought of that!
I'm in the conceptual stage of building a music room in the garage/basement and have been planning out a guitar wall. Are the hangers at 16" intervals, or did you frame the wall specifically for the guitar spacing?
Ken

Hey Everyone,
Thats for the reply's!
Yes Jos, I certainly have the "bug" also...It has been almost 2 years since i became a member here at GbL and the number of G&L's has doubled in that time.
Ken, I am going to do the lunch report this week and will go through the details of the room! The guitars are at a 12" spacing...stay tuned

Meow,
I do have a few students that do play them once in a while - I have a few students that come right after they are finished working and don't have time to race home and grab their own guitars. I think my local dealer is pretty happy about that fact also - Most of those guys now have their own G&L's!

Wow Scott! VERY nicely done!
Like everyone else I had no idea you had so many G&L's, they are are beautiful but that honeyburst bluesboy is calling to me
I really like the tile you chose as well (from your lunch report) it had me fooled until I read the report.

This is unbelievable. You might have just saved my marriage. I'm going to show this picture to her so she understands my collection is small

Only trouble is then I gotta admit that I'm lurking about a website looking at pictures of guitars.

Re: My G&L's - "The Wall"
My wife has mandated that I build a "man cave" in the basement and hang my guitars. I think it's more from a desire not to see cases lying around than it is for decoration. That's fine with me, although the "one in, one out" restriction I'm under until then is a downer.bloodied_fingers wrote:Fantastic idea!pl14mjr99 wrote:This is unbelievable. My problem is that I will need to have two walls the size of Scott's, and any new acquisitions will need to go onto stands. It's a tough life!

Re: My G&L's - "The Wall"
Ken, I feel your pain as I have orders for no additional guitars. I am supposed to trade. I have a full living room wall and the ends of the adjoining walls for 22 guitars . I have 12 in racks and 1 in a display case. There are some on the wall in the bedroom and 3 on the wall in the garage. So according to Ginny, I have reached the limit. She probably has better judgment than I do. -- Darwin

My wife said she had better judgement than me once, then I reminded her "you picked me remember"... case closed...darwinohm wrote:Ken, I feel your pain as I have orders for no additional guitars.
