Welcome back, Larry!

Always glad to see an old member drop in. BTW, your GbL handle (skyhawk) is still there. When we upgraded to
forum software for the G&LDP almost 3 years ago, a separate registration is required, including previous members.
If you want "skyhawk" as your forum user name, let me know (either PM or Email me), it has not been taken yet.

Hey Larry,

I am one of the newer cats around here, and totally missed out on the old forum. Glad you found your way back. Look forward to hearing from you, maybe even seeing some pics of your G&L('s) in the porn section!

thanks everyone. Yes, It is great to be back. I will post some pics of my guitars. It won't be until at leat this weekend. One guitar at a time. Just so you know. I have owned many G&ls in the past. Well I say many , but lets say probably , 12. As of now, I own a 84 G&L F-100 which has been my main stay guitar since 99. I also own a Leo Fender 89 sig. skyhawk.
I have owned 3 George Fullerton models, 3 Legacys, 3 F-100s. 1 s-500, 1. SC-3, 1 SC-2. 1- 86 asat. 1- Asat Jr. and at least 5 Skyhawks which I have always felt were a strat beyound compare. lol
So you know, I love pre BBE G&L, and BBE G&L.
I think BBE has done more than a fantastic job for the G&L Legacy. What a great guitar company. "Really".

Nice to see you back Larry,
Recently my '89 skyhawk has been my number one player.
I concur with everything you said.

I posted a thread with pics fairly recently . I'll find the link.

Elwood, what is the body wood of your 89 skyhawk? I believe mine is maple. The guitar is unreal for looks, playability, and vibe. Mine also is sunburst, with the regular G&L headstock. I owned a blueburst 88 skyhawk at one time with the sickle head but was not a signature model, but I wish I kept it.

The consensus on mine was that it is Ash (northern variety, heavier, not as porous as the southern swamp ash).

Here's a link to a thread with pics

I almost picked up a busrt skyhawk a few years back...hanging there at GC amongst the F's and G's it stood out nicely.

Hi Larry,

You now have your old handle back. I also notice that you have two GbL user profiles and I will merge them.

Hi Larry,

I was on the old board for a brief while in '99-'00, but I can't remember what my user name had been. I'm also a big fan of '80s G&Ls and have quite a few kicking around. My '83 Nighthawk and '85ish Skyhawk are absolutely the best Strat-type guitars I've ever played.

Ken,
I think i joined this website when I bought my first real computer, I think 98. I main rig since 99 has been a G&L F-100 and my Carvin Nomad. My first G&L was a 88 blueburst Skyhawk. I agree about the skyhawks, a strat on steroids and built like a tank.

I joined when I got my first G&L (an '83 SB-1) in late '99 or early '00. I lost track of the forum during a job change/move the next year. I came back in 2011, when the G&L bug bit me hard and the collection began.
