MFD's in my partscaster?

Post by twangster2 »

This is a thought I have been toying with. Not that I am not 100% happy with it, I am, it's just a tinkering bug i have all of a sudden. Any of ya'll put MFD's in other guitars?

I have two MFDs in my MIM strat...the pickguard bulges slightly , the route needs to be about a 1/4" deeper to make it comfy. I have them at the bridge and middle with a RR velvet hammer at the neck.
I used a newer S-500 for the bridge and an older SC-3 for the middle. The newer S-500 has a little brittleness to the top end . I played around with permutations for a few weeks (at least) before I came up with this combo.

I can take some closeups if you want to see how much bulging you might expect without deepening the routes.

no need to post a pic. The info about a deeper route was valuable, i'll definentaly make the routes deeper if need be.
