Very honored with my new G&L

Post by Sean Clavin »

A few years ago my good friend and guitar playing partner Gary LeMaster was having a conversation with his friend George Fullerton and George had told Gary that he thought we both needed to be playing G&L's. Well a few months later I received my ASAT Deluxe and Gary got his Bluesboy. This past September Gary had passed away from a long battle with cancer, but before he passed he had told me he wanted me to have his Bluesboy because I had the rock...(long story) and they needed to be together. I am honored that a friend and fellow musician would give me something that meant so much to them. I'll play it till I can't play anymore, right along side my ASAT Deluxe. RIP Gary LeMaster.

Took it out for a couple of gigs this last week and I have to say this thing is awesome! I usually play my ASAT deluxe for most gigs and have a Strat or Tele as a second, sometimes I'll play the second for a set but always play the ASAT Deluxe for most of the night. I played the Blues Boy for the first set and didn't put it down the rest of the night. I was expecting it to sound similar to my CS 63 Tele (bridge pup), but I was surprised at the heft of the Blues Boy bridge pup tone. While it has characteristics of a Tele, it has a ton more balls than my 63. The Seth Lover humbucker is very cool, too. But I wish it was able to be tapped. I still love the Tele bridge pup tone, but the Blues Boy is a whole different animal altogether. While my ASAT Deluxe will always be my go to guitar, I think "Little Red" will be a great compliment to "Goldie".
