New to the G&L family and I'm looking to expand!

Hey everyone. I recently joined the G&L club because I played a George Fullerton model at a guitar store in town(It was signed by George too). I'm looking to expand my sonic arsenal if Santa will allow. I am limited to the Tribute series, which are excellent.

At the moment I'm sporting a beautiful Swamp Ash Legacy and I'm looking for something with a completely different sound(I think).

I've been checking out every Tribute ASAT and S500. Unfortunately I've been feeling the GAS for every single one that I've laid my eyes on!

I think the ASAT Deluxe Carved Top would be the most different when it comes to sound. Though there is a chance that I may not like it due to my preference to single coil pickups. Although.. it does have a coil tap..
Do you guys think it would be better to meet in the middle with something like a Semi-hollow Bluesboy or just go with something that is similar yet different enough to warrant a purchase(ASAT Classic/Special)?

Maybe I'll just end up like the Bobby Fischer of guitar purchases.

Just wanted to stop by, say hello, and ask for guidance from the pros. Thanks everyone.

Of course this is entirely subjective. It sounds to me you're more of a single-coil person. Although I know you cannot go wrong with either a ASAT Classic nor a ASAT Special, you're proposal to start with a Bluesboy (SH or not) sounds reasonable to me. They all have their particular applications. If you're heavily into twang, I'd go for the ASAT Classic for that slightly warmer Tele-sound; if you're into blues the Bluesboy is a great model; and if you're somewhere in the middle, I'd recommend the ASAT Special. Not that you can't play twang on the Bluesboy bridge pup or blues with an ASAT Special. Like I said it is entirely subjective.

But at least you seem to be looking around and play some. The hardest part is always to find a place (or two) that carries enough different models such that you can compare on the spot. So I hope you'll be able to try some for comparison in your neighborhood.

Unfortunately I'll have to pick the guitars blind as I did with my Legacy. I'm definitely into the Blues and Jazz so I think you may be right in saying the Bluesboy is most reasonable. Argh! GAS is such a dangerous condition.
