Custom order spec query

Post by NickHorne »

I'm finalising a custom order for a second Will Ray model. And yes, I'll be keeping my present one, it's superb.

The new arrival will have a 1 3/4 wide neck, for more acoustic-type fingerings.

I'm undecided between a blonde, lemondrop, or orange, with a white guard in every case.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could advise me whether:
1: Can I still have Will's great SKULLS with the wide neck?
Of course, that amazing back pickup is the main reason for getting the WR, but the skulls are rather special too...

and 2: Could I have the thick, white PERSPEX guard which G&L's guard-supplier offers, factory-fitted (I'd happily wait for as long as it takes)? I really fancy how that would look, plus I fancy its rigidity as a pickup mounting over that large rout.

Thanks in advance for any help; it's a bit difficult to get hard info here in UK.
But G&Ls are still great value compared with anyhing else we can get here. Brilliant guitars, and there's no substitute for me.

Hi Nick - Nice choice!
The Lemondrop might be kinda cool.

1) To my knowledge, yes on the skulls on a 1 3/4 neck.

2) Not familiar with the Perspex guard. But I would think they could do that at the factory if their supplier can provide it. And it's good to have it factory installed.

Good luck, and post some pics!

Thanks for that, Will, I'm encouraged.

You really made something good when you devised your WR Asat model! I've had my silver one for 6 years now, and we're more in love than ever. A brilliant instrument, there's nothing else like it.
