Monkeypod/ east indian walnut?

Post by huck »

Is there anyway to find out the production #'s on this wood type or are they still in production?
I have a asat classic in Monkeypod and was wondering if G&L is still making them?
Thanks in advance for any info...

I checked with Steve:
Hi Craig,

The Monkey Pod / East Indian Walnut was a short run of an assortment of models and limited by the availability of the body wood. Depending on future supply of the wood will determine how we move forward. If we can get a consistent supply of this material then there will be more produced. We didn't set any numbers on how many of each model we would make since our hope was a steady supply of material. So far, getting the wood on a consistent basis has become a problem. We have only received about 50 pieces of Monkey Pod from our supplier and an assortment of models (guitars and basses) were produced over the past few months.

Thanks

Steve Grom
Hope this helps.
