What version Asat Classic is this?

Post by drbrain »

Hello all,

New to your forum. I recently picked up an Asat Classic at an auction. I have been trying to figure out what version and model year it is. The serial is GLFXXXXX, starting with a 5. Here are some pics:

Thanks darwinohm, Anyone else have any ideas? I don't see the small toggle switch on any of the ASAT Classic S models I see. Was looking to sell it but want to make sure I know what I am selling.

Mine has a push pull on the volume knob. I believe they are done either way. I just notice that yours has a stacked volume knob. Maybe someone else has some ideas. -- Darwin

Definitely a recent Classic S. Mine also has a push-pull pot instead of a toggle switch. I've not seen one with a dual concentric knob and toggle switch, this may have been added by a previous owner. Yours also seems to have an ebony fingerboard, or is it just very dark rosewood? If it's ebony then its most likely something that was special ordered by the original owner.
