NHD, New Heritage Day

Post by astutzmann »

Hi Everyone:

I bought a Heritage 150 about 18 months ago and its great (a LP style) and I heard that their 535 which is like a Gibson 335 was their best, so I just picked up a 2004 H535.

Its done in Old Style Burst, has Schaller components and pickups (they switched to tonepros and SD pups later, not because the Schaller's were bad, they just couldn't get enough of them).

Its in great shape, has low action and I love it so far. No wonder people love this style of guitar!!

Here's a rough pic I took just after opening the box.

made by the old ones, the old way with the care to detail and craftsmanship that gibson was famous for. wonderful guitars that you can pick up for very little in comparison to their, imho lesser, gibson "cousins." that's one lovely guitar. congrats.

thanks, its a good one. You are right, I relate Heritage to Gibson like G&L to Fender.

Great looking Heritage! I have an '09 H535 25th Anniversary model. Heritage makes a fine product. Here's mine:

That's stunning, I was looking at a 25th, just missed out on it. Congrats.

I put on some Thomastik strings, cleaned it up a bit and played for 1.5 hours this morning. I love it, might be the best guitar I have....maybe, love my bluesboy second right now, lol

Heritage H535 are great instruments in general. I was lucky enough to pick up a 1997 model some years ago for a very good price. I have flatwound strings on it currently and it sounds great. The only bad thing about it is the body shape is not comfortable for playing sitting down.

Congratulations on the new guitar, it looks like a nice one. I've given up on guitars with more than 3 knobs.
